Culture of Peace Education Program
The education for a culture of peace is founded in UNESCO’s constitutional mandate to build peace "in the minds of men". Our Culture of Peace Education Program works with the school system to build a peaceful, just and sustainable world for our children. Peace education helps individuals to transform conflict in their own lives, understand and respect other cultures and ways of living, and treasure the Earth. The program encourages teachers and students to think critically, solve problems constructively, take part in responsible decision-making, communicate clearly, and share their feelings and commitments openly. Through conferences, training workshops and seminars, the program provides the skills and values that are essential for survival in an increasingly interdependent world, where violence has become an instrument of policy, yet still breeds more violence. The program also recognizes and honors outstanding teachers, parents and community leaders with the “Peace Educator Award”. |

Health and Nutrition Development Initiative
New Era Educational and Charitable Support Initiative delivers educational services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the most disadvantaged people in Nigeria. We manage research and field activities in rural and urban communities in Nigeria through our partnership and collaboration with a variety of governmental, nongovernmental organizations, community-based organizations, research institutions, community groups, and the private sector. The goal of our Health and Nutrition Development Initiative is to empower local communities by strengthening their capacities to care for the growing numbers of people affected by HIV/AIDS and the orphans the disease creates. The program includes training on HIV/AIDS awareness, empowering local communities to grow medicinal herbs, nutritional gardening, perma-culture techniques, and psycho-social support. |

Today4Tomorrow Program
Our “Today4Tomorrow Program” empowers young people by supporting the creation of youth-generated activities that promote self-worth, responsibility and intergenerational respect and communication. The Program seeks to foster, develop and support youth initiative, and a strong representational youth voice in the service and decision-making life of our nation, and to engage youth as resources for peace, democracy and good governance, interfaith dialogue and agents for change, growth and sustainable development. All initiatives of our “Today4Tomorrow Program” are youth-initiated and youth-led, with adult support for coordination and implementation. The Program provides the platform for youth to become productively engaged in their communities, volunteering and voicing their opinions through meaningful social change efforts as alternatives to negative or alienated behavior. |

Values in African Thought Program
Our "Values in African Thought" Program, inspired by Project Happiness and the Mount Madonna School Values Education Program is currently being implemented at Creative Minds International Academy-Nigeria. Through this program students engage one another and members of their communities in thoughtful dialogue about the concepts and values that lead to a meaningful and fulfilling human life. The program opens doors to possibilities and presents students with opportunities to interact, listen and learn from elected officials, traditional wisdom carriers, celebrated intellectuals and leading lights in Nigeria and beyond. Through this process, the students gain an understanding of reality and life, which enables them better respond to daily challenges and events of their existence. The Program fosters understanding, capacities and relationships needed by young people committed to stepping forward and creating the change they want to see in the world. The program is committed to the vision of a healed world, where people of all faiths, traditions and colors can come together with mutual respect, and where the rapidly vanishing voices of the traditional African wisdom keepers of the Earth are heard and respected. |
